Teaching

Dr. Munjulika teaches a diverse range of courses and workshops in dance history and theory, performance research methods, and writing about movement-based practices. Topics in her courses include performance cultures of Asia and the US, with a specific focus on dances of South Asian origin.

Since she began teaching professionally in 2013, Dr. Munjulika has developed and taught original courses such as “Moving Words, Wording Dance,”  “Asian/American Identities in Motion,” and “Danced Nationalisms.” Her pedagogical approach balances theoretical and embodied knowledge with multi-modal assessment and creative assignment opportunities such as performance viewing and analysis, fieldwork and interviews, group projects and performances, and conversations with scholars and artists.

Dr. Munjulika is available for creative collaborations, guest lectures, workshops, and presentations. In addition, she can host conversations and Q/A sessions in her fields of expertise, including translating from Bengali to English and vice-versa for bilingual forums. If interested, please contact her here.
